What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a method of introducing a controlled wound into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen & elastin. This process causes much less damage to the epidermis than dermal rolling or lasers.
Which areas of the body can Microneedling be performed on?
This minimally invasive treatment can be performed on any area of the body, although the most popular areas are face, neck, décolletage and hands. Due to the small Microneedling tip, this treatment is especially effective for small areas around the eyes and lips to help with crepiness, smoker’s lines, and dark circles. Stretch marks and surgical scars on the body can also be treated with out Microneedling treatment.
What is Microneedling recovery like?
After your microneedling treatment your skin will be slightly pink similar to a sunburn and may develop a small amount of swelling. Your skin will feel tight, but there is no downtime with this procedure, you may resume your normal activities right after the treatment. It is important for patients to keep their skin hydrated during recovery and protect the skin with sunscreen.
